Company History

Duracrete Products Ltd was founded in Whangarei in 1965 and is still a family owned and operated company. Find out more about our journey over the years from making hand made concrete tanks to a broad range of precast concrete water storage and treatment products.

  • 1965 – The business was founded as Northland Tank Construction by Ron Garry. Specialising in hand plastered on site concrete water tanks. Located at SH1 premises in Kauri, Whangarei.
  • 1989 – Northland Tank Construction relocated to current Saleyards Rd premises and became known as Garry Concrete Products Ltd, we continued to specialise in hand plastered concrete water tanks.
  • 2000 – Duracrete Products Ltd was born and introduced the New Zealand concrete water tank industry to self-compacting concrete (SCC).
  • 2003 – Duracrete won the New Zealand Concrete Technology award for Innovation for its use and development of self-compacting concrete (SCC).
  • 2008 – Bowers and Son Ltd of Te Awamutu become the first Licensed Manufacturer of Duracrete Products, supplying the Waikato, South Auckland and Bay of Plenty areas.
  • 2011 – Duracrete began manufacturing of our secondary, textile recirculation sewage treatment system Cleanstream TXR. Cleanstream TXR Sewage Treatment System is fast becoming the bio-cycle system of choice for residential use.
  • 2015 (July) – Duracrete became the New Zealand licence holder of the American based retaining wall product/system, Redi-Rock International. Bringing in an infrastructure / commercial product to complement our primarily residential precast concrete products and services.
  • 2015 (October) – Duracrete creates its Cleanstream Service division. An after sales and maintenance service for any customers that own a Duracrete manufactured Cleanstream Sewage Treatment System.
  • 2018 – Wright Tanks Ltd of Palmerston North become the second Licenced Manufacturer of Duracrete Products, supplying the Manawatu, Hawkes Bay and Wellington areas
  • 2020 – Duracrete Products 2017 Ltd opens its new manufacturing facility at 34 Rustybrook Rd, Wellsford. A 2 year project
