Matakana Valley Road – Slip Repair

This slip repair project at Matakana is impressive. A big shout out to ENGEO NZ & AU and Downer for choosing Redi-Rock.

The MSE wall is 56m long up to 6.8m high. The ease of the installation process allowed the road to reopen for full use quicker than fist anticipated.

The site is located on a tight bend and Auckland Transport took the opportunity to improve road safety by widening the road to accommodate truck turning circles. In addition, ENGEO have addressed the risk of the Waterfall overtopping the existing culvert and impacting the road by modifying the stream channel and incorporating a bespoke anchored headwall design, and replacing the existing culvert with a 3 x 1m box culvert.
